ABOUT US AND OUR BOER GOAT FARM:
We have a small farm consisting of 54 acres at the base of the Catskill Mountains approximately 25 miles south of Albany in Freehold, New York in Greene County. We are a small family goat farm run by husband and wife team Mark and Debra Forbes . We started out with 8 percentage Boer does and a fullblood Boer buck. We soon decided that we really enjoyed raising Boer Goats so onward we went.
We have been working on upgrading our breeding stock and breeding program to produce our own line of "Show Quality" Boer goats along with a strong line of breeding stock in addition to our already established "Traditional Boer" and "Commerical Boer" line. We have made several trips this year to include Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Maine and also here in New York and hand picked some Boer Goats to add to our Boer Herd. We can offer a variety of Boer Goats to include Traditional, Reds, Paints, Black, and Spotted in Fullblood Boers, Purebred Boers, and Percentage Boers. We like the idea of having a variety so that everyone that visits our goat farm will find that goat thery're looking for. We've recently added a Fullblood "Moon Spotted" Boer buck "Nobody" out of Logan Hill "Mr. Makers Mark" to our breeding program along with a Fullblood Boer doe out of Imax from Max Boer Goats in Pennsylvania. We have also recently added a 99.9% Purebred Red Boer Sire AHGF "Red Ranger" out of DL"Red Warrior" with T4 genectics. Ranger is a really awesome buck throwing some awesome kids with alot of muscle, structure, width and length - well put together!
We are focused on practicing rotational grazing for optimal nutritional benefits along with it's benefits of managing parasites We strive to have our Boer Goats healthy and happy at all times!
We invite you to come visit our goat farm and check out our goat herd and what we have to offer. Feel free to call with any questions 518-634-7382.
We will continue to update our site so please check back with us for additions.
